A imagem que a Bíblia nos dá de Satanás é bem diferente da popular. Na Palavra de Deus ele não é aquele personagem com chifres, cauda e tridentes. Na verdade, ele é um adversário muito perigoso, inteligente e ardiloso. 1Pe 5:8 nos fala sobre isso: “Sede sóbrios, vigiai. O vosso adversário, o Diabo, anda em derredor, rugindo como leão, e procurando a quem possa tragar”. Pelo fato de pertencer ao mundo espiritual, ele pode enxergar as nossas fraquezas por um outro ângulo. Desta forma, ele as utiliza contra nós, sempre usando-as com grandes vantagens. A Bíblia não fala muito do poder de Satanás, mas sim de sua astúcia e sutileza. Ele gosta muito de usar de trapaça, de planos elaborados cheios de enganos, sempre com o objetivo de nos enfraquecer, nos levar a abdicar da vida e nos desanimar.

Algumas das armas mais fortes do arsenal de Satanás são de natureza psicológica. O medo é uma delas. A dúvida, a raiva, a preocupação, a hostilidade e a culpa são estratégias.

Quando Satanás usa dessas armas psicológicas contra os cristãos, ele cria uma forte névoa na mente humana que tira a clareza da graça de Cristo e gera sentimentos negativos, tais quais: culpa, inferioridade, falta de autoestima, entre outros.

Cristãos que estão debaixo dessa influência, apesar de terem tido experiências maravilhosas com Deus e até conhecerem profundamente a Bíblia, acham-se em condição de tensão, como que amarrados psicologicamente, presos a um profundo sentimento de desvalor.
Como consequência, desperdiçam seu potencial espiritual, intelectual, emocional e paralisam a sua vida em todos os sentidos. O preço dessa autoimagem negativa é muito alto.

Cristo morreu por nós para nos resgatar de um destino horrendo e construir um futuro maravilhoso. Precisamos aceitar que se o Deus perfeito pode conviver com as nossas imperfeições, então também podemos acreditar que há um propósito na nossa existência.
